Through her painting, Alejandra explores a hidden and imaginary reality via settings inspired by natural landscapes in response to a world in the throes of climate decline.

The search for natural environments becomes an obsession and a necessity for the individual who yearns for a connection with unspoiled nature untouched by humans, something impossible and akin to mythology for 21st-century society. She calls this place “Eden” and draws inspiration to find it in biblical stories and texts.

She depicts natural environments populated by figures that do not entirely belong there. These figures serve as aesthetic objects, ready to be admired alongside the landscape. The repetition of these two elements allows her to explore paths of the unconscious related to the search for a spiritual feeling rooted in the wild and unexplored. There is also a desire to escape reality, giving rise to an encounter with the fantastic, with imaginary creatures and unreal landscapes.

It is within this invented universe that an honest conversation with herself can emerge, where answers arise organically to questions that have not been consciously formulated.
